And just like that, the ice is gone. That happened quickly yesterday. Of course the strong wind really helped move the ice we could see white caps on the open parts of the water. It's still windy this morning, cloudy and misty, 4C.

There's a lot more open water today and the ice that is there is very mushy. Plus 5C this morning with a strong east wind that will help move the ice. If we get any rain the ice will sure to be gone within the next few days. And then the work will begin.

The lake this morning, it doesn't look as black but that's likely because it's cloudy. Temperature is above freezing, +4C but there's a strong wind so it feels colder. Getting some work done around main camp today and waiting for ice to go out.

It was a successful weekend of fishing, ended off with fishing till dark, a gorgeous night. It's a colder morning, minus 10C but once again temperatures will rise to above freezing. Our guests leave today so there won't be much fishing now.

Yesterday was that kind of day - shorts and t-shirt. Trout fishing was good as it was a wonderful sunny day. Conditions have changed again, it's cloudy but above freezing, on and off snow flurries.

Last night's sunset while one of our guests was out fishing. This morning it was minus 19C with plenty of sun and there's hoar frost in the trees, making for a beautiful morning. Temperatures will rise to above freezing this afternoon perfect time to go fishing!

Finally, after 3 days of snow we get to see a glimpse of the sun. Now we can go back to using snowmachines instead of ATV's to go ice fishing. Still plenty of ice too.

We are finally out of the snowfall warning but it is still snowing. When it does warm up it's going to be awfully messy. Don spent most of yesterday plowing snow and he's back at it again this morning.

This past weekend it was best to use ATV's when out on the ice. We've had significant amount of snow so we're sure you can use your snowmachine if you want to be out on the ice. However, you need to be very careful of pressure ridges, there could be open water...
