I’m not sure if I have ever seen sun dogs like this in the morning. A sun dog is an atmospherical optical phenomenon caused by sunlight refracting off ice crystals. I have always thought that when I see sun dogs it would mean cold weather. Well we sure are having the cold weather although today is somewhat warmer, minus 29C with a wind chill of minus 36C. This cold hasn’t deterred me from getting outside for an afternoon walk, Jasper and Cedar look forward to the outing whereas Hannah prefers to stay inside where it’s warm.

Today’s forecast – A mix of sun and cloud. 30 percent chance of flurries this afternoon. Wind becoming west 20 km/h gusting to 40 early this morning. High minus 22. Wind chill minus 43 this morning and minus 31 this afternoon. Frostbite in minutes.
Tonight Partly cloudy. 30 percent chance of flurries this evening. Wind up to 15 km/h. Low minus 32. Wind chill minus 31 this evening and minus 38 overnight. Risk of frostbite.
