A brilliant sunrise to welcome the winter solstice. And I suppose, fittingly so it’s a bitter cold morning, a wind makes it feel even colder than the minus 23C it says it is.

We saw another wolf cross the lake yesterday. This guy looked bigger than the others we have seen. It too stayed away from camp, even though it stopped several times and looked in our direction.

Today will be spent preparing for the big day and trying to stay warm.
