Happy New Year! 2022 did not end the way we wanted it to. Don ended up with kidney stones so we spent the last 3 days of 2022 in Thunder Bay waiting for surgery. Finally on New Year’s Day he was the first person in Thunder Bay to have surgery, however there was no gift basket or special t-shirt handed out. We were just very grateful to be on our way home that day. All is good. He will take it easy for a few days yet.

We are fortunate that Allison and Alex were able to be here to look after the place. They managed to get our trout fishing for trout opener and they caught 1 trout. The lake has a fair bit of slush due to snow and warm temperatures.

It’s cloudy, light breeze and minus 10C this morning. We’re hoping we might see some sun this afternoon and see a high of minus 5C.
