This photo was taken last night and no worries, it’s not the beginning of a forest fire, it’s slash pile burning. Slash piles are accumulations of limbs and debris left behind from forest harvest activities. Each year the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry attempt to have these piles burnt. Some years is more productive than others. This year the process has been slow because the forest has been dry, not much rain and not much snow either, but what piles have been burnt have burnt well.
