The old ice house at Pettit #2 has been burnt. It hadn’t been used for ice in a long, long time but more for storage. Don and friends were doing more interior work on the cabin on Wednesday. Yesterday Don took his grader out to wing back the snowbanks from the bridge to the main road, so now if you were to meet another vehicle on our road you would be able to pass one another.
Here we are near the end of January and our morning temperature is minus 9C and we will be warm this afternoon. We’re loving the warm temperatures because usually this time of year we are in a deep freeze. Of course with the mild temperatures it means the lakes aren’t freezing like we’d like them to be, there’s way too much slush.

Today’s forecast – Periods of snow. Risk of freezing drizzle this morning. Amount 2 cm. Wind up to 15 km/h. High minus 2. Wind chill minus 12 this morning and minus 5 this afternoon.
Tonight Periods of light snow. Wind up to 15 km/h. Low minus 8. Wind chill minus 5 this evening and minus 11 overnight.
