I’m back from a 3 week trip to Peru with my good friend Lynn. It was an amazing trip and perhaps the highlight was seeing Machu Picchu. How it was built is mind boggling. We were fortunate to have been able to walk around the ruins as they are considering changing how tourists will view Machu Picchu in the future. On our trip we saw desert, highlands and mountains; at close to 5000 metres above sea level everyone found the altitude difference a challenge. (especially, when here at camp, we sit at around 600 metres above sea level) There is so much history and culture to see in Peru and it’s a trip we won’t forget.
Don seemed to have kept himself busy while I was gone and he now has some projects to work on. We have lost a lot of snow on the lake but there is still a lot of ice and a few more days left for walleye fishing.
