Today we will observe a moment of silence as well as spending the day thinking of those who have fought or who continue to fight. This year the Battle of Passchendaele is being highlighted as it’s the 100th anniversary of this great battle. Soldiers from Canada joined the fighting there in the fall they would overcome almost unimaginable hardships to triumph on a brutal and muddy battlefield. Over 4,000 Canadian soldiers lost their lives and almost 12,000 more were wounded.
