Tuesday December 22, 2020

A pillar of sun shines as the sun set on the shortest day of the year. We are expecting some significant snow accumulation today and tomorrow, we definitely have a very white Christmas.
It was announced yesterday that our province, Ontario, will go into lockdown beginning December 26th. For us in the northern part of the province, this will be in effect until January 11 2021, for those in Southern Ontario it's effective until January 28, 2021. The lockdown means non-essential businesses are closed and we are to gather with no one other than our household. January is usually a quiet month for us anyway so it won't be too difficult of a time for us here on Manion Lake and we can still get outdoors and enjoy the cold weather.

Today's forecast - Cloudy. 30 percent chance of flurries this afternoon. Periods of snow beginning late this afternoon. Wind up to 15 km/h. High minus 4. Wind chill near minus 12.
Tonight Periods of snow with risk of freezing drizzle. Amount 2 to 4 cm. Wind southeast 20 km/h becoming light after midnight. Temperature steady near minus 3. Wind chill minus 10 this evening and minus 4 overnight.
