Photo of the Day

Tuesday February 1, 2022

Well this certainly isn’t the prettiest of pictures but it does illustrate how cruel the animal kingdom is out there. This is evidence of wolves that had killed a deer, all that is left is the stained snow. This photo was taken on Don’s trapline that is west of Mine Centre, but we also know there are wolves around camp. That’s why we now lock the dogs inside at night.

Minus 4C this morning and the wind is picking up, we’re going to have to make sure we don’t get blown away. I sure could use more days of this temperature but the temperatures are going to drop throughout the day and we’re back to cold.
Today’s forecast – Light snow and local blowing snow. Risk of freezing drizzle this morning. Amount 2 cm. Wind west 40 km/h gusting to 60. Temperature falling to minus 15 this afternoon. Wind chill minus 12 this morning and minus 25 this afternoon.
Tonight Mainly cloudy. 40 percent chance of flurries this evening. Wind west 30 km/h gusting to 50. Low minus 26. Wind chill minus 25 this evening and minus 37 overnight. Risk of frostbite.
